Alpha Capital Group traces its origins to 2018 when George Kohler, then a young investor studying banking, finance, and investments at BPP University, approached Andrew Blaylock with an idea. Kohler had discovered proprietary trading while at university and noticed a gap in the market — no single firm offered a complete trading experience combining fair evaluations, excellent technology, and genuine trader support. Blaylock, who had nearly two decades in financial services and had launched his own successful brokerage, saw the potential immediately.
The pair spent three years developing the concept before formally incorporating Alpha Capital Group Limited on November 2, 2021, with Companies House registration number 13719951. The company initially registered at Unit 8, Thrales End Business Centre in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, reflecting its modest beginnings.
Growth came rapidly. The firm relocated to 6-7 Waterside Station Road in Harpenden in December 2021, then to the prestigious 10 Lower Thames Street in London's Billingsgate area in March 2024 — positioning itself in the heart of the City's financial district. The team expanded from its two co-founders to include Alex Hagan (Director of partnerships), Jonathan "Planty" (senior market advisor with 30 years' experience), Gerard (Director of Education), and Danny (CMO with 13+ years in digital marketing).
A pivotal moment came in April 2023 when Alpha Capital acquired the intellectual property of Traders Central Fund Corp (TCF), a third-party intermediary providing global funding to traders. This acquisition expanded the firm's capabilities and trader base significantly. In November 2023, the firm launched ACG Markets — an in-house proprietary broker regulated by the Financial Services Authority of Seychelles — giving it control over trade execution rather than relying on third-party brokers.
By 2024, Alpha Capital had paid $60 million in performance fees and surpassed 250,000 registered traders. The firm expanded its product line with Alpha Futures (futures trading), Alpha Prime (live prop trading in London for elite traders), and the Alpha Trader platform with TradingView integration.
February 2024 brought a challenge when the firm suspended US services due to MetaQuotes regulatory tightening around prop trading platforms. Alpha Capital later returned to the US market through its Seychelles-regulated broker and alternative platforms (DXTrade and TradeLocker). The June 2024 mass ban incident, where approximately 150 traders were incorrectly flagged for group trading, tested the firm's reputation but was ultimately addressed with reinstatements.
